About

Matteo Lulli

I am a theoretical physicist with a great passion for computation. My background is very diverse, ranging from Quantum Gravity, Statistical Mechanics of ordered and disordered systems such as spin-glasses and structural glasses, Fluctuating Hydrodynamics of multi-phase and multi-component systems and Topological Quantum Field Theory (knots and braids) and its relation to quantum information and machine learning.

I am fascinated by the role of the thermal/quantum noise in all these systems and by the fantastic possibility of testing the theoretical prediction by means of computer simulations.

For the purpose of having different research areas coexisting in a single computational framework I developed idea.deploy which allows to independently reproduce the numerical results of all the publications (mine and, why not, yours!) on peer-reviewed journal. It also provides a meta-language through which the same low-level code can be written once and used both on CUDA and OpenCL devices by just changing a flag, all through the convenient interface of a Jupiter notebook.
